Sunday is the start of the week and is the perfect day to plan to maximize the remainder of the week. A strong Sunday routine could set you up for a successful and productive week.
Hereunder are 5 things that you can complete on Sunday for a better week:
As much as possible you and I must ensure that we are eating healthy. One of the best ways to effectively manage what is consumed is by meal planning. You could arrange to grocery shop during the week and take a few hours on Sunday to plan and prepare your meals.
This will guarantee that you have a healthy option available to eat in the week. Another advantage is that meal planning will save you money as eating out could be costly.
Choose and Prepare Outfits
Choosing outfits everyday can make your weekday mornings hectic and stressful. Some individuals prefer to wear the same outfit everyday in order to prevent decision fatigue in the mornings.
Sundays is the perfect time to put your wardrobe together for the week ahead. You may want to even select your shoes and accessories so during the week you just dress and go. If you go to the gym, also consider preparing the outfits that you want to work out in for the week.
Sundays is an ideal day for rest and relaxation. After all, you need as much energy to make it through the week ahead. Allocate some time on Sunday to recharge.
If you get your relaxation from reading a book or spending quality time with family then do so. If a nice at home pamper routine is your thing then do it. You could also use Sundays to get a nice long afternoon nap.
Clean Your Home
There is a quote that states that clutter in your physical surroundings will clutter your mind and spirit. Sundays is therefore the perfect day to take some time to ensure that your environment is clean.
You may be able to take an hour or two to ensure that you put everything that you may have moved in the week back into its place. This will help you to save time as you know where items are quickly and easily.
Make A Schedule
Sundays is a great time to plan out your week. Grab your planner if you use one and schedule all the things that you will love to complete in the week.
This will start putting you in the frame of mind to take on the week. One successful leader who used Sundays to create a plan is the legendary businessman, Lee Iacocca. In his autobiography, he stated that college taught him to manage his time.
In college he worked hard during the week while leaving the weekend free for family and recreation. On Sundays he made a schedule for what he needed to accomplish the following week. He used this schedule during college and when he entered the workplace.
In his autobiography, Iacocca stated:
“I’m constantly amazed by the number of people who can’t seem to control their own schedules. Over the years, I’ve had many executives come to me and say with pride: “Boy last year I worked so hard that I didn’t take any vacation.” It’s actually nothing to be proud of” (p.20).
