Saying a morning prayer before work is an admirable practice that you should develop especially as a believer. God is in control and he knows the future. He knows what challenges lie ahead that you have to face during the day and he is able to give you wisdom and strength for the day.
In the Book of Psalms chapter 5 verse 3, David directed his prayer to God. This verse states my voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
At times the day may require more patience, more love or mercy for you and I to thrive. Therefore, the best thing to do is to start the day committing everything we do and say to God.
Hereunder is a prayer to say before work:-
Our Heavenly Father,
Hallowed be your name. You are the only true and living God. There is none like you. There is no other God that can be compared to you. You are a God that cannot change. You are my great father who cannot lie.
Thank you for waking up this morning. I am so happy that I have been able to see a new day. I am grateful for the gift of life, for the ability to move, a voice to speak, clean air so I can breathe and safe water to drink. Thank you that I enjoy nature, for food to eat and clothes to war. Thank you father, that I am living in a relatively safe environment that is not war stricken and the political climate is stable.
Father, I commit my day at work to you oh Lord. You know the future and know what lies ahead. Protect me from all accidents and danger. Order my every step. Delay my steps as you deem fit and hasten them at the appropriate time. I will not fail to give you all the praise glory and honour. Thank you in advance from everything that you will save me from during this day.
I come before you to commit my day to you. Lord you know what this day has in store for me. You know what it will take for me to have a successful day. Fill me with whatever virtues that I need to have a productive and successful day.
Lord, grant me a great day at the office. I have been having so many long days and numerous tasks to complete. But you Oh Father are my strength. I can rely on you to give me power to complete every task that comes my way as you are my rock, my fortress and my deliverer.
Help me to be kind to my co-workers. I want to represent you well in everything that I do. Grant me the wisdom to be slow to speak and ready to listen to them and their needs. Show me how to be a catalyst for unity in the office. Lord, I want to be the person that seeks peace over the need to be right that you name will be glorified in everything that I do.
Give me wisdom to deal with situations that may come my way with prudence so that your name is not blasphemed. Fill my lips with words that will build and encourage my colleagues. Bless me with wisdom as I handle every matter that I need to on the job today with excellence and prudence. Lord, grant me divine favour on the job. Fill my mind with strategies and suggestions that will help me to excel in my role.
Reveal to me how I can be an extraordinary blessing to someone whom I may come in contact with. Father, you have been so good to me and there may be someone with a need that may come across my path. Grant me stillness so that midst the busyness I can hear your still small voice leading me.
Protect me as I drive and walk during the course of the day. Help the food that I eat to be nourishing to my body. Remember my family dear Jesus. Grant them a beautiful day. Help each and everyone to be a blessing to strangers today. Bless my aunts and uncles and my grand parents
Remember those in my church and community who are sick. Lord, ease their suffering and let your will be done. Be with the children who have no parents. Bless the guardians who are stepping in to fill the role of mom and dad. Remember widows in my community and across the country. Provide for them supernaturally and meet their every need.
Be with those who are living in political unstable environments such as war stricken countries. Protect your people there. Father, provide for those who are in places that have been affected by natural disaster. Miraculously dear father, meet their every need today. You do not slumber and sleep. You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above everything that I could ask or think.
Your word says that I should pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Be with your people today and grant them peace. Lord remember some of the desires that I long for you to fulfill in my life. Grant me the strength as I wait on you.
Help me to be productive with my time and also to be a great steward of whatever you give to me. Grant me divine understanding that I can improve processes and find ways and means to elevate my role.
Lord, send your holy angels to encamp round about me. Protect me from all accidents and danger dear, father. You my father are my sun and shield. You are my glory and the lifter of my head.
Lord you have been so faithful to me throughout the years and I just want to thank you. Be with me today and strengthen me to be victorious in every area of my life.
